Soundbites in Zoom (October 2021)

Monday October 11th  SOUNDBITES on Zoom

We present a published guest poet each month and this month we’re delighted to welcome BECKY CHERRIMAN.

If you missed Becky’s set or want to see it again, here is the video of her performance. Watch this space for details of November’s Soundbites on Zoom.

Becky Cherriman is a writer, workshop leader and performer based in Leeds. She believes that writing and the spoken word help us make sense of the world and our place in it, providing us with the tools to transform our lives. Her work has been named in prizes such as the Women’s Poetry Competition 2019, The Ilkley Literature Festival Open Mic and the Forward Prize 2017, published by Seren, Mslexia, The North, Envoi, Stand and Bloodaxe and hung on umbrellas from a market square. She has a poetry pamphlet ‘Echolocation’ and collection ‘Empires of Clay’. She also writes fiction and for theatre and has collaborated regularly with other artists. For the last eighteen years, her main occupation has been connecting communities with creative writing and performance. She now works part-time for the University of Leeds Lifelong Learning Centre as a Teaching Fellow in Professional Studies. www.beckycherriman
