That deepening silence that stems from shame
and fear of exposure, of taking the blame
for the desecration of their pearls.
Who will speak of the brutality of men,
their lack of moral fibre and restraint?
Even if it’s only one in ten,
that one in ten will forever taint
the innocent among them like a blight.
Predatory men who think they have a right
to terrorise the female gender
by going on a power-fuelled bender.
O, who will speak for them – those molested
girls whose agony goes unattested?
